Decanting centrifuge ( also named horizontal scroll discharge decanter centrifuge ) is an indispensable and beneficial solids control system separation equipment. Decanter centrifuge is the key equipment of dealing with the super-fine hazardous solid phase. Decanting cenrifuge can depart and recycle the solid phase larger than 2µm, recover the density of drilling fluids quickly and increase the drilling speed. Decanter centrifuge is the ideal oilfield drilling fluids purification equipment.

The decanter centrifuge is mainly used to control the density and viscosity of drilling fluids, decrease the content of the solid phase, remove the hazardous solid phase, recycle the heavy spar, regain the left of whirling current separator to guarantee the good performance of drilling fluids and increase the speed of drilling.

A decanter centrifuge works by spinning a vessel which contains the material to be separated at high speed. It is very much like the rides at the fairground that rotate. You have to lean towards the center to overcome the force caused by the rotation. In fact, some rides are designed specifically to press your body against a back support. The decanter centrifuge spins at a very high speed and pushes the ‘ heavy phase, usually the solids, to the outside of the vessel, just as you can see in the clear flask standing on the bench top.

How to keep decanter centrifuge working well in drilling solids control?

1. Centrifuge, which is installed on top of the new entrance to the tank away from the drilling pump, can also be arranged differently according to the actual situation.

2. Frequently check if the fasteners are tightened, and lubricating parts well smoothened.

3. The top-long centrifuge should be cleaned rollers and conveyor to make sure there will be no jamming before it is started up.

4. The machine should idle for 10-15 minutes to make sure centrifuge operates normally. Then open the pump for a small to large amount of slurry and adjust it to a suitable date.

5. If the drilling fluids is too viscous, it would be appropriate to add dilution water so as to reduce viscosity, to accelerate the solid phase precipitation speed, and to improve the processing capability of the centrifuge.

6. All safety protection guards shall be installed before starting up. It is forbidden to open the guards of decanter centrifuge to observe the running state of machine.

7. During the operation of the decanter centrifuge, don't touch the moving parts and rotation parts.

8. It is forbidden to brake the decanter centrifuge in any way before it is stopped.

9. If there is abnormal noise and vibration, shut down the decanter centrifuge immediately and deal with the problems.

10. It is forbidden to have the decanter centrifuge running at the rotating speed out of active speed indicated in the instruction and nameplate.
