Mud gun is designed for using in a solids control system of a drilling rig. It is a tool which is mainly used for mixing drilling mud in the circulatory system and to prevent the mud from depositing. The structure of equipment is simple enough to offer flexible and easy operation. A mud gun is commonly used to guard against precipitates in a solids control system. The mud gun is installed in a mud tank.

Furthermore, it is usually used together with mud agitator. The mud agitator is used in the middle of the tank while the mud gun is placed in the corner of the tank.

Mud gun, also called drilling mud gun, is the professional tool of oil drilling fluids solids control equipment, mainly for the mud system. The impetus of mud gun can come from either centrifugal pump or mud pump. Mud gun is generally placed on top of drilling fluids mud tank, It is divided into high pressure mud gun and low pressure mud gun. High pressure mud gun has small output volume, big pressure, usually with a drilling pump to supply liquid. Low pressure mud gun, generally has sand pump to supply liquid. It is large, but its pressure is small.
