Ignition Device Is an Important Equipment in Keeping Safety of Oilfield in Drilling

As we all known that petroleum, natural gas & coalbed methane gas are all produced from the ancient organism & plants bodies by the high temperature & pressure after millions of years. In these processes, it would produce large amount of harmful gases underground, such as H2S, methane, etc. These gases mix together underground, and are easy to explode, which makes it difficult to collect them in petroleum drilling processing. And also if these high-pressed gases break the borehole pressure balance, well kick may happen. This would be a disaster for a drilling project. So underground gases must be well controlled in the oilfield. When these harmful gases come to the surface of the well, they are usually burned with the electric ignition device at a safe distance.

Ignition device is to light the waste gas in oil and gas field or chemical industry. In the oil and gas field, the flare ignition device will be working together with the liquid/gas separator to light the gas separated from the liquid gas separator. Ignition device is one part of the solids control system. It is used to fire the noxious gas. It can protect the environment and human health. So each drilling field must use it.

Structure of Ignition Device

The flare ignition device has a simple structure of gas guiding pipe and high pressure ignition. The ignition is controlled by a small control panel installed on the vertical pipe, and at the foot of this device, we design a natural gas tank to store natural gas for ignition. The potential transformer could convert the the electrical pressure from 220 volt to 16000 volt. At connecting point of the flare ignition device to hoses from the drilling site, we install a backfire valve to prevent the fire get in the hose concurrently.
