Cone Is the Main Part of Desander and Desilter for Drilling Mud Solids Control System

Aug 20, 2013

The desander and desilter are important equipment in solids control system, and the hydrocyclone cones are the key components.
Both the desander cones and desilter cones are also referred as hydrocyclone cones, basically used to separate the solids from drilling fluids. The separation process is carried out by employing centrifugal forces. The cones are made of high polyurethane, high iron cast iron and ceramic with optional steel inserts, which ensure consistent productivity.

Desander removes the abrasive solids from the drilling fluids which cannot be removed by the shale shaker. Normally the solids diameter for desander to be separated are 45~74μm. Desander cones remove abrasive, coarse solid particles between 45~74μm. Desilter hydrocyclones manufactured by highly abrasion-resistant polyurethane materials provide quite efficient solids control in oil well drilling operation through its extensive service life even under very critical parameters. Desilter cones remove fine sand and silt between 15~44μm.
